Waterfed
Pole & Traditional Ladder Specialist.
The
Water Fed Pole System
involves the use of telescopic poles and 99.9% pure water .
The chemically pure water (over 99.9% pure H2o ) is obtained by using
reverse osmosis equipment and deionization filters.
It requires special equipment to be fitted to a vehicle and
preparing the water is a lengthy and fairly expensive process compared
to just filling a bucket with tap water.
However the increased expense does not affect our prices and the
advantages over traditional cleaning methods are clear.
..
as follows .......... |

|
|

1)
Better cleaning results. Pure water is unnatural, and it constantly
strives to return to its impure state; hence its capacity to absorb
large amounts of dirt from your windows. As such `pure water’
becomes a highly effective cleaning solution in itself. This process
involves brushing your windows clean with pure water. Firstly,
loosening the dirt, and then secondly the process carries onto rise and
flush away the dirt. We then leave them wet and allow to dry naturally.
Have faith, as they will dry virtually perfect in most instances. This
can be disconcerting, as you may expect water droplets to leave some
marks as they dry, but remember these remaining droplets are now pure,
as the dirt has been flushed away, and as they dry, they leave no
marks, no residues.
2) Health and safety.
Legislation being
brought in from Europe will severely limit the use of
portable
ladders as temporary workstations. The law now states that portable
ladders should only be used when all viable alternatives have been
considered, and water fed pole systems are now seen as a safer viable
alternative within the window cleaning industry. A surprising number of
accidents do happen with ladders, and portable ladders top the list as
the biggest single cause of accidents generally, in industry
and
at home.
3) Insurance. This
realization of the
above has led to a dramatic increase in insurance premiums. Further to
this, `Terms and Conditions’ of insurance policies relating
to
window cleaning are now stating that, the insurance policy is only
effective if the method of cleaning the windows abides by current
health and safety legislation. If we clean a window using a ladder and
there is an accident, the insurance company could well argue their
terms and conditions were not being met.
4) Pragmatic
approach. Continuous use of
portable ladders is acceptable if there is no viable alternative. We
are taking each house individually and are assessing the risk of using
portable ladders vis a vis the introduction of pole washing on 2 main
points i] in the reduction of risk, but also ii] to see if it
is
cleaning the window satisfactorily .In most assessments so far there is
clearly a reduction of risk and also an overall improvement in the
clean, although the improvement in the clean may not show itself for
several cleans {see below*}.
5) Shared
responsibility. for
health and safety falls onto both of us, the operative obviously, but
also I,m afraid, onto you the customer, who are deemed to be the
building and site controllers, i.e. The law regards that you too can
have a influence on the health and safety practices of work done on
your property. By allowing us to proceed with the pole washing system
you will be more than fulfilling your responsibility here.
6) Environmentally
friendly. Pure water
only is used, eliminating the need for detergents and chemicals. As you
can well imagine, if all window cleaning was done using this technology
there would be real benefits for the environment.
7) Reduced
disturbance. No more
dents in your lawn, obviously we tried to minimise this but sometimes
the (old fashioned method) made it difficult.
8) Increased privacy.
No more odd faces
peering through your upstairs windows. No more embarrassing moments,
believe me it does happen, but I will not go into detail.
9) Windows
will stay cleaner. The
absence of sticky soap residue means that dirt will find it harder to
cling to your windows, hence your windows stay cleaner longer.
10) We can now reach previously dangerously
accessible
aspects of your property more safely yet effectively. Third floor
windows, conservatory roofs, windows above conservatory’s
that
had to be previously left, or involved special access equipment.
